Sandbox adventures
Posted on 2008.04.18 at 22:23I built Lucas a sandbox to play in while he is outside. I used to make them for Eli and Juniper and I thought they were too big, but today's adventures proved me wrong. They took it over immediately and made some kind of city with cars. This is Lucas crushing a building.
Here is Juniper setting up the car paths. You can see all of the dirt that I dug up for the sandbox hole in the background. It took a few days to get the sand (money is super tight right now - thanks mom!), but we finally filled it (mostly anyway). The funny thing is that in Lucas' mind, I took brown dirt out and filled it with more brown dirt-looking stuff. He spends most of his time trying to use a wooden spoon to take dirt from the pile and put it back in the sandbox, on top of the sand. It is almost too cute to stop him... but it did take a lot of work so we do try.
We also have a tether ball right near the sandbox. I just learned the rules the other day and have already kicked Eli's butt 3 times... however, he is very good - I'm just bigger.
Lucas once again tries to escape to the trampoline and stream when he thinks no one is watching.
Big sister to the rescue. She really is great with him.
This picture explains Lucas perfectly right now. He is getting his second molar and is pretty much a drooling, snotty teething mess and all he wants to do is go outside and play.
But he is still super cute...
They all fit in the sandbox nicely and play together well.
Look at that teamwork. These kids rock.
